Our Expert Instructors

After teaching and choreographing everything from ballet to Broadway dance stateside, Deborah embarked on a transformative teaching career in Europe. In 2001, she studied with master trainer Hilary Cartwright and apprenticed at White Cloud in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Working closely with owner/instructor Andreas Justrich, Deborah became certified by Juliu Horvath in GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® at the European headquarters in Bad Krozingen, Germany. After several years of teaching, she added GYROKINESIS® certification to her credentials.

Deborah holds specialized certifications in the Jumping Stretching Board, Leg Extension Unit, and Gyrotoner. She has completed advanced courses in Therapeutic Applications of GYROTONIC® for Shoulder Girdle, Pelvic Girdle and Lumbar Spine, created and taught by master trainer Paul Horvath. Deb is also a certified pre-trainer in Level 1 GYROTONIC®.

In 2004, Deborah returned to the U.S. with a vision to continue her work in Boulder, Colorado. Her desire to create an atmosphere of calm and serenity in a private setting led her to found BodySpan Studio in 2005.

Carly Hambridge is a licensed instructor of the GYROTONIC® Method and professional ballet dancer. Her love affair with movement began at age seven with her first ballet class, leading to deep immersion in the art form.

At 17, Carly studied at the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Intensive where she was first exposed to the GYROTONIC® Method, discovering the vast possibilities of movement beyond traditional ballet.

Carly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Pedagogy from Butler University and has danced professionally with companies across the country including BalletMet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Currently in her seventh season with Boulder Ballet, Carly has danced the title role of Giselle and performed works by iconic choreographers including George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Christopher Wheeldon, and Paul Taylor. She brings over a decade of teaching experience with youth dancers ages 2-18 and adult dancers of all backgrounds.
